Your Trading Base
Most individual share traders work from home. It is
ideal for some, and it means they can get on with
other things once the markets are too choppy for trading.
But home trading can bring distractions. It is a lonely
business, even with access to web-based trading communities,
and not everybody has what it takes.
If you are trading from home, set up a dedicated office,
with telephone, computer and any other screens. You
should have easy access to newspapers, company reports
and accounts, research and similar. This is your workplace.
Frequent traders need access to streaming share prices
and Level II information. Not all will make the investment.
Categories of Share Trading
Share trading breaks down into three broad categories:
day, swing and position trading.
Some traders operate in more than one of these categories
simultaneously. It works well, but only as part of
a deliberate strategy.
